Howard County residents are invited to join the thousands of other communities across America in supporting this crime prevention effort.

Residents will be asked to turn on all outside lights and spend time at neighborhood events and block parties

Safety tips are provided by the Howard County Department of Police.

Offering elementary and middle school children a safe, secure haven where they can explore, learn and have fun.

Registrations will be accepted on a space available basis until 4 p.m. on Friday, August 13 and will reopen on Monday, August 30. Registrations will not be accepted August 14 thru 29.

The following programs are full and have waiting lists:

Centennial Lane Elementary School - After School Care
Clemens Crossing Elementary School - After School Care
Northfield Elementary School - After School Care (K-3)
Waterloo Elementary School - Before and After School Care
Worthington Elementary School - Before and After School Care

Middle Schools
Cradlerock- with transportation from Oakland Mills, Harpers Choice and Wilde Lake Middle Schools
Dunloggin- with transportation from Burleigh Manor

A.M. Program: For elementary school students only. From 7 a.m. until the school day begins. Students attend the program at their school.

P.M. Program: For elementary and middle school students. From after school until 6 p.m. Elementary school students attend the program at their school. Middle school students attend at Cradlerock, Dunloggin or Hammond. Students who require transportation pay a monthly fee.

Full Day Programs: Offered on most days when school is scheduled to be closed all day. Requires a separate registration form. Children need not be registered in the A.M./P.M. programs to register for Full Day Programs. School's Out Programs

Please note that CA will not hold Full-Day programs on the following dates - 9/6/2010, 9/14/2010, 11/2/2010, 11/25/2010, 11/26/2010, 12/24/2010, 1/17/2011, 5/30/2011

Tax information: The tax identification number is 52-0823992. The Columbia Association's School Aged Services Department does not provide a statement for taxes. A copy of your monthly bill should be kept for this purpose.

Automated payments: At this time, we do not have the ability to do automated debits from your credit card or checking account. You may set up payments with your bank or complete and submit a credit card payment form each month.

Registration- In order to register a child for the morning and/or afternoon program, a registration form, health inventory, including a special care plan and the Parents Guide to Regulation Childcare acknowledgement form must be completed.

Registrations are accepted at the CA Headquarters, 10221 Wincopin Circle in Columbia, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Forms can also be mailed to Columbia Association, SAS, P.O. Box 981, Columbia, MD 21044.

Income Qualified Application: Reduced rate is available for Howard County residents for School Age Services only, as the programs are held in the public schools, whose household income is within the Columbia Association guidelines. This form and the required documents must accompany the registration form and required fees.

For information about the reduced rate program, download the income-qualified application. Purchase of Care through the Maryland Department of Social Services is also accepted.
