BikeAround Downtown Columbia Promotes Safe Fun on Pathways
Biking, Prizes and Time Off Screens? Bring on BikeAround Downtown Columbia!
Mall goers, Pathway walkers, tot lot enthusiasts and friendly neighbors: Step away from the screens and onto a pair of pedals. I repeat, get those behinds off the couch and onto a bike seat. In other words, before it gets too chilly to comfortably cycle around our awesome city, let’s BikeAround Downtown Columbia!
Mark your calendar for this first-of-its-kind event is happening Saturday, October 24, and Sunday, October 25. (And scroll down for information on free yoga at Haven for a limited number of BikeAround registrants!)
You’re Invited to BikeAround Downtown Columbia!
Who: You, your family, your friends… whoever wants a reason to ride! This route is open whenever is convenient for you to help with social distancing. That said, don’t forget your mask and helmet.
What: A 7.8-mile route around Downtown Columbia, looping around Wilde Lake and Lake Kittamaqundi.
When: October 24 and 25, any time you want!
Why: Because we all need an excuse to get moving, and what better place to do it than Columbia?
How: Hop on your own bike or use the Howard County BikeShare. Even better, the Office of Transportation is providing comp codes for the weekend (coming soon!).
RSVP: Make sure to register and let us know you’ll be part of the fun. Plus, DTC Partnership will be awarding prizes to some lucky participants.
You can boost your chances for BikeAround prizes by posting to social media with #bikearound2020, #bikehoco, #downtowncolumbiamd and #columbiaassociation. Prizes will be available to pick up at Haven on the Lake.

Free outdoor yoga at Haven
Anyone who registers for BikeAround Downtown Columbia also gets access to free yoga classes at Haven! Classes will be held outside of Haven on the Lake on both Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 12pm. Due to physical distancing mandates, these classes are limited to 30 participants each.

You can register for either BikeAround Yoga Class on Haven’s website. Mats will be made available for anyone who registers.
