Looking for a camp for your child to make friends, play games and experience activities like never before? Access to Nature Camp is a specially designed inclusion program for campers with disabilities that offers modified versions of camp activities. At Nature Camp, one of CA’s most popular camps, our Access campers will participate alongside their peers in Nature Camp activities, including canoeing, archery, fishing, sports, crafts, recreational swimming and more. Canoeing and archery are led by Nature Camp’s certified instructors and modified with safety and accessibility in mind for each camper. Depending on the session, campers may get to participate in a field trip to nearby nature centers or farms. Nature Camp is truly an outdoor camp, but campers are kept cool with swimming, water games, snow cones and slip and slides. Relief from the sun can be found in our barn and boathouse as well.

Campers will have opportunities throughout the day to participate in camp activities with same-age, non-disabled peers, creating a truly inclusive camp. Middle school-age campers will participate in activities with our middle school Nature Camp. Peer interactions and friendship building will be facilitated by camp staff. Access Camp is staffed with trained employees who have experience working with children with special needs. Many of our employees work for area school districts and are committed to enhancing the lives of children with disabilities. Access to Nature Camp will provide a low staff-to-camper ratio of 1:2 in order to best meet the needs of our campers.

Every new camper and parent/guardian must participate in an entrance interview with camp staff prior to enrollment to ensure a proper fit and to develop a reasonable modification of daily activities. Returning campers do not need to set up a meeting. Activities are subject to change due to inclement weather. One-on-one supervision will not be provided.
