Beyond the role of caretakers for the history and legacy of Columbia, Columbia Archives promotes the rich resources housed with the archives through a variety of public programming.
Public programs include Archiving the A.R.T.S., a biannual event honoring the achievements of Columbia in the fields of art, religion, theater and sports. The program includes a display of donated archival materials and a presentation.
Columbia BikeAbout is an annual event where cyclists explore history and nature while enjoying a self-paced, family-friendly ride on Columbia’s paths and streets. Riders are encouraged to stop at sites along the way to discover the history of Columbia, which highlight archival images housed within Columbia Archives. Columbia Archives also offers on- and off-site tours and presentations, which feature the rich resources held within the archives.
