Double the Fun: Fused Jewelry and Encaustics Box

in this two day workshop, enjoy exploring fused glass and wax encaustics.  On the first day, you will make 2 fused glass pendants.  On the second day, you will be guided through the encaustics process to apply melted wax to gift boxes for your pendants. 

Glass Workshop

For ages 17 and up. Designed for Beginners and Continuing Students. Learn basic fused glass or stained glassed techniques. Bring your friends for a fun, creative class. You'll leave with your stained glass creation and fused glass will be ready for pickup within two weeks following the workshop. All supplies included.

Please Note: The cutting workshop does not include a finished project

Independent Stained Glass Studio Session

Open to students who have taken at least one Columbia Art Center full-session stained glass class, or approval of the instructor. Designed as a weekly independent work session for you to concentrate on your individual glass projects. This is not an instructor lead class, but a facilitator will be present to answer questions. You will have access to hand tools, grinders, and soldering irons. You must supply all other materials. At the beginning of the session, you will be asked to demonstrate your experience with the studio equipment and sign off that you understand and comply with the equipment and clean-up procedures.

Introduction to Fused Glass

Learn the fundamentals of fused glass while gaining the knowledge needed to create functional and decorative kiln fired pieces. Topics taught include glass cutting, glass coe, and the different types of firings. Gain the skills necessary to take additional classes. Firings, use of tools, glass, and some supplies are included in the tuition.

Introduction to Stained glass

In this fun introductory stained glass class, learn the copper foil method to create your very own panel. Depending on the pattern you select for your project, there may be some homework between classes. Most supplies are included.
