It’s time to learn to play to golf! Start on the course with practical learning of how to play and on-course instruction. Our goal is to teach you how to play golf, give you the confidence to play with other golfers, and prepare you to join a league.

Classes will meet on Tuesdays from April 28-June 2 between 5:30-7pm. The price is $180 for members and $195 for non-members. To register, email Joan.Lovelace@ColumbiaAssociation.org.

Our Hobbit’s Glen Golf Academy is designed to teach you everything you need to know to step onto a golf course and play with confidence. Lessons include on-course activities, led by certified Pros with vast knowledge of ways to teach and coach, leading the journey from beginner level all the way to getting involved in league play. Each session includes range balls, equipment during class (if needed) and instruction.

Level 1: Classes focus on the fundamentals of stance, grip, posture, and swing mechanics of putting, chipping pitching and full swing. We’ll also cover basic terminology.

Level 2: Classes reinforce what you learned in Level 1. We’ll cover basic rules, etiquette, safety tips, how to keep score, understanding tees and yardage, getting on the course, hitting from 100 yards in, getting up and down around the greens, and putting from short and long distances.
