  • If you think there is nothing for youth and teens to do in Columbia, then here is your opportunity to get involved and be a part of the solution.
  • Columbia Association is seeking members for its Teen Advisory Committee and Middle School Advisory Committee, which help plan, organize and implement positive programs and activities. All middle and high school students who live in Howard County are welcome.
  • Students can develop leadership skills, meet like-minded peers from across the county and earn community service hours. Meetings are held on the first Thursday of every month, 6:30-7:30pm at the Youth and Teen Center at The Barn, 5853 Robert Oliver Place in the Oakland Mills Village Center.

Come out and meet the Youth and Teen Center (YTC) staff and community partners. Enjoy making crafts, cooking demos and more. Register for the YTC’s Drop-In Recreation and Enrichment Program, and sign up for YTC clubs, events and committees.

Light refreshments will be served.

YTC programs are for youth ages 9-18.

The top 10 performers will advance to the semifinals on Thursday, October 4 at 6pm in the Lord and Taylor courtyard at The Mall in Columbia.

The finale will be held on Sunday, October 14 at 3pm at the Downtown Columbia Lakefront.

The competition is open to Howard County performers from sixth grade through 12th grade. No music is necessary for the auditions. Explicit lyrics are not allowed.
