Benefits of Practicing Yoga on a Balance Board
Yoga is one of the best ways around to improve your balance, strength and focus. When you practice on a balance board, those benefits multiply by about 100!
At CA, we’re excited to offer two upcoming Balance Board Yoga workshops at Supreme Sports Club, led by Ling Hanson on Saturday, February 12 (1-2pm) and Suangela Abrams on Saturday, March 5 (1-2pm).
How does a balance board add to your routine?
No matter your skill level, the balance board is a great way to boost your yoga practice. Changing the surface you practice on keeps things fresh, fun and challenging. Emphasis on “challenging” — because the balance board has an unstable base, it activates the stabilizing muscles in your body (namely your core).
So if you feel like you’re just going through the motions, moving onto the balance board is a surefire way to invigorate your practice and bring your mind into the present.
Membership Has Its Advantages!

The balance board adds a unique element that tones the full body and brings a new level of control and strength into your practice. Beyond sculpting your abs and improving your balance poses, it’s also wonderful for honing your mental focus. Every move you make requires mindfulness, which forces you to slow down and tune into your breath.
