|Job Type||Part Time|
The Head Coach serves as the navigator of the team, working to provide a learning, productive and rewarding environment for all members of the team.
Under the direction of the CNSL Supervisor, the CNSL Head Coach shall organize and direct the activities associated with operation of Columbia Association’s Columbia Neighborhood Swim League program. The Columbia Neighborhood Swim League (CNSL) is primarily an instructional swim league contained within the structure of Columbia Association’s outdoor pools.
The league provides a format in which each swimmer can test his or her performance in actual competition as a part of a team in an atmosphere of fun and good sportsmanship. CNSL is not a U.S. Swimming program and therefore does not try to offer an advanced level of training. It is the coach’s job to teach the sport of swimming and to provide an opportunity for all swimmers, regardless of their ability, to have fun and enjoy the sport. The league allows for neighborhood focus for fun!
Coaching responsibilities include fostering a sense of team within the CNSL, your staff and the community of your neighborhood, leading by example with good sportsmanship, conducting practices according to the practice schedule set forth by the swim league, attending all practices and all swim meets unless excused by the Swim League Supervisors, and preparing all lineups for weekly competition.
