If so, Columbia Association (CA) is seeking an experienced Head Professional/Assistant Manager to promote the sport of tennis, grow the game and ensure the satisfaction of our members and guests at our five prestigious clubs, encompassing 37 tennis courts and six pickleball courts located in Columbia, Maryland.

Under the direct supervision of the General Manager, and as an integral part of the leadership team, the Head Professional/Assistant Manager will strive to fulfill the Brand Promise, Mission, Vision and Values of Columbia Association.

The Head Professional/Assistant Manager is a courteous professional interested in promoting the game of tennis, growing the game and ensuring the satisfaction of our members and guests. The Head Professional/Assistant Manager will positively impact the organization and lives of our members.

This is a challenging position, involving considerable responsibility, complexity and variety. The Head Professional/Assistant Manager will be accountable for the growth of adult tennis programming, including but not limited to teams, in-house leagues, and adult instruction program and participation. The Head Professional/Assistant Manager will also increase member and non-member participation by actively promoting lessons, programs and leagues, and teams, and will work closely with the Special Events Coordinator, Junior Competitive Coordinator, and Junior Development Coordinator to ensure that all programs are delivered in conjunction with our different curriculum pathways.

The Head Professional/Assistant Manager will be responsible for leading relevant CA meetings and trainings and all Columbia Tennis Committee and GM-assigned meetings. The Head Professional/Assistant Manager will recruit, hire, train, manage, discipline and terminate staff as needed and schedule tennis coaches and tennis desk team members, and will facilitate all seasonal club openings and season end closings.

Applicant must have a minimum of three years of full-time experience in supervision of tennis operations and facilities; minimum of five years of full-time experience in teaching and program development; and USPTA or PTR certification.
