Columbia Association (CA) is seeking a Marketing and Communications Copywriter to work within the Department of Communications and Marketing.

This position writes creative original content for the purpose of lead generation, helping CA achieve its membership sales goals and retain its current customer base, as well as engaging with current CA members and the community of Columbia and Greater Howard County.

The Marketing and Communications Copywriter will conceptualize, write and edit copy for a variety of integrated marketing campaigns and deliverables for both digital and print use, including advertisements, banner ads, emails, drip campaigns, newsletters, social media posts, print advertisements, web content, feature stories, and video scripts. This position serves as one of CA’s brand ambassadors, requiring an ability to create compelling, targeted messaging, writing with personality, producing copy that is fun, approachable and direct and aligns with CA’s brand, tone and voice.

This is a fast-paced job with a fulfilling goal of telling — and selling — the story of Columbia Association, which is dedicated to the quality of life for those who live, work and play in the planned community of Columbia, Maryland.

Experience and Education:
Candidates must have at least 5-7 years of experience required in similar positions with B2C and/or nonprofit companies, including a proven ability to create high-cadence content across different communication vehicles (advertising, sales, web, social media, newsletters, emails, etc.) that drives customer engagement.

Search engine optimization (SEO) skills preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, journalism, English, or a related field required.
