Returning Lifeguards must have had a position in the 2018 summer season.
A Returning Lifeguard candidate must be mature in judgment, friendly, and able to pass a water screening, which tests swimming ability. You should also know that Columbia Association will arrange for your lifeguard, CPR, and first aid training if you are hired.
The water screening consists of the following:
– 200-yard swim without resting
– Two minutes of treading water while holding both hands out of the water
– Retrieve a 10-pound diving brick from a minimum depth of 8 feet of water, or the deepest part of the pool (up to 12 feet), and bring it to the surface.
