Definition of a family membership
Columbia Association (CA) recognizes a family for purposes of a membership as two adults and their dependent children under the age of 26 living in the same household. If any membership is purchased for more than two adults, and it includes a third adult between the age of 23-26, a surcharge will be added to your monthly membership fee for each additional adult.
Monthly electronic withdrawals or credit card charges
Membership fees will be paid by the 18th of each month by a withdrawal from the checking account or charge against the credit card identified by the member for this purpose. If funds are not available or the charge is declined, a service charge of $40 will be assessed. If the past due amount is not paid by the date of the next month’s deduction or charge, CA will charge the member for the prior month’s past due amount, the service charge and the current month’s amount. If that attempt to charge the member’s bank account or credit card is unsuccessful, membership privileges will be suspended until the member’s account is current. Failure to pay the past due amount may result in your account being turned over to a third party for collection.
Renewal
Memberships are renewed on month-to-month increments (except for those who have paid in full) and prices are subject to change with a month-to-month status. Please notify CA in writing of your intent to terminate 35 days prior to your desire cancellation date.
Termination
Early termination does not apply to month-to-month memberships. You may cancel your membership prior to your anniversary date only for medical reasons or if you have moved at least 25 miles away from CA’s Headquarters office. You must pay a cancellation fee and turn in your membership cards. The cancellation fee will vary according to your type of membership plan and the remaining term of your contract.
