Conquer Gym Anxiety with CA’s JumpStart Program

Whatever your pre-pandemic fitness routine was, it’s more than likely you experienced some disruptions over the past two years.

Maybe you’re feeling totally rusty, or maybe your fitness goals and motivations have changed drastically. Perhaps you’ve never exercised a day in your life, but you’re ready to take charge of your health and feel confident at the gym.

Wherever you’re at, CA’s JumpStart program is here to help you conquer your fears and take that first step to a healthier you. Moving your body is one of the best ways around to boost your immune system, relieve stress, gain more energy and sleep better — not to mention you’ll look and feel great well into your golden years.

The first step to experiencing these benefits? Simply showing up! 


How JumpStart works

The JumpStart program is free for new CA members and existing members who haven’t used it in the past year. The goal is to help you make the most of your membership, and to orient you with the programs and services that we offer that can help you achieve your goals (from group fitness to small group training).

There’s a lot to be said for having a friendly face at the gym, whether just to say “hi” or to answer your exercise questions, which is why the JumpStart program matches you with one of our fitness professionals. Here’s what to expect out of your three sessions together!


JumpStart program

Session 1

This session involves discovering your goals and doing a low-intensity functional movement screening. You don’t need to worry about preparing or “warming up” in any way — we’re here to meet you where you’re at. This screening will take about 15 minutes. You’ll want to wear comfortable clothes and sneakers (there’s no strength or cardio components, so you don’t have to dress for anything intense).


Session 2

Next, it’s time to discuss your score from the functional movement screening. Based on the screening and your goals, we’ll provide you with an action plan! You’ll receive a custom program with four to five exercises, which is meant to be both challenging and accessible. 


Session 3

The final session is all about checking in to see how you’re doing after 30 days. That’s all! We can help you with accountability or give you new things to work on. The focus is to make connections based on your needs, who you are and how your fitness goals align with what matters most to you in life.
